Our young volunteers from Kavadarci Cvetanka Kamčeva, Miki Kamčevski, Jane Pavlov, Zlate Varelovski and Alekasndar Ristov, who were EVS volunteers in Turkey from March 2012 until March 2013, were invited to participate in an Annual EVS Event which took place in Centar Balašević in Belgrade, Serbia.
The Annual EVS Event was organized and implemented by SALTO-YOUTH SEE RC from 15th till 17th March. More than 70 volunteers from the Balkans (non EU members) took part in this event – former EVS volunteers from Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Albania.
The aim of this Annual EVS Event was providing space for ex-EVS volunteers to meet and share EVS experience, stories and network with others, recognizing competences (Youthpass) gained during their EVS projects. Also learning how to use EVS experience for further personal development and future projects and sharing good practices/strategies how to deal with re-integration after EVS.
From the very beginning we had a full agenda of activities. First day was to get to know each other through some interesting games and at the end of the day every volunteer was presenting his achievements during their EVS which was printed on a paper and attached on The Wall of Fame. Next two days were reserved for training sessions during which we learned how to use EVS experience for further personal development and how to look for new projects. The evening meetings were called Cultural Shock – perhaps the most interesting moments where we presented the most shocking moments we experienced in the new culture during our EVS projects.
This Annual EVS Event was a great experience for all of us, we got to know 70 and more new friends from the Balkans which I think is the most precious thing. We all had a great time shearing our great moments far away from home, telling funny and memorable stories. Also we had a chance to exchange contacts for further collaboration on interesting projects.
